Users of the New Zealand Companion Animal Register (NZCAR) accept the following terms and conditions:

1. “Customer” means the person who purchases the services offered by Animal Register Limited.
2. “Registration Fee” means the fee paid to register a single animal onto the database.
3. “GST” means goods and services tax chargeable in accordance with the Goods and Services Tax Act 1985.
4. “Login” means a Customer’s personal email address and password used to access the Companion Animal Database.
5. “Animal Register Limited” means Animal Register Limited (ARL), its related companies, and directors, officers, employees or agents.
6. Use of the Companion Animal Database is subject to these terms and conditions, the privacy policy and the liablity statement, and customers accept these as part of registration.
7. Animal Register Limited has the discretion to accept or decline registrations without reason, further ARL reserve the right to cancel any registration without notice should the need arise.
8. No costs are payable to access your ARL customer records or to browse the open parts of the web site. Customers are responsible for any costs incurred in registering an animal onto the system regardless of whether it is later found that the registration is legal or illegal.
9. Animal Register Limited may, at its absolute discretion, suspend or terminate the ability of any Customer at any time and for any reason.
10. The Animal Register Limited will be available online 24/7, subject to server accessibility and accepting there may be minor outages. Animal Register Limited will also be contactable during office hours of 8am to 5pm, using email, our 0800 number and/or by visitng our offices.
11. All attempts are made to keep information secure and we advise reading of our privacy policy in this regard.
12. Animal Register Limited has attempted to provide a web site that is both complete and offers a full Animal Recovery Service. Every effort has been made to ensure all content is legal and free from copyright. Any concerns over the use of content, images, code or any other aspect of the site may be raised with Animal Register Limited during normal office hours and if found to be correct such content will be removed immediately.
13. Animal Register Limited reserve the right to alter, amend, vary, add or delete any content, policies, pricing and/or graphics as they see fit at any time and without notification.
14. The Customer agrees not to use the Animal Register Limited database for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms and conditions.
15. Material on this site not be altered, modified, reproduced, transmitted or distributed without prior written consent.
16. Animal Register Limited reserve the right to alter the registration fee and to add alter or delete any other charges at any time in the future. Any increase or decrease in the registration fee shall take effect from the time of implementation and shall not be applied retrospectively to any fees already paid.
17. The prices of all services are displayed in New Zealand currency.
18. The prices of the services listed on this site are inclusive of GST, unless otherwise specified.
19. The provision of the Companion Animal Register is limited in liablity and customers are advised to read the limitation of liablity statement on this site.
20. Customers shall pay for the services offerred by cheque, eft-pos, credit card, direct credit or bank transfer. Cash transactions are not recommended and no liablity for lost money will be accepted.
21. If payment is by bank transfer or direct credit, the services of the site will not become active until payment has been received and processed.
22. If payment is by cheque, the services of the site shall not become active until funds have cleared and have been deposited into the Animal Register Limited accounts.
23. If payment is by credit card, the services of the site shall not become active until funds have cleared and have been deposited into the Animal Register Limited accounts. If the credit card is declined the service will not be provided until alternative payment arrangments have been completed.
24. Animal Register Limited reserve the right to change these terms and conditions, including payment methods at any time and without notification.
25. The customer is responsible for ensuring all records held in the register are correct and current.
26. The services listed on this site will be available by either registering on-line, at our offices, through your veterinarian or other an authorised agent, or by returning the application form by mail.
27. A request to cancel or remove a record may be made at any time by calling 0800 LOST PET.
28. All right, title and interest in all Intellectual Property in all concepts, systems, written, graphic and other material relating to Animal Register Limited shall at all times remain the exclusive property of, Animal Register Limited. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall constitute any licence of or transfer of intellectual property rights to the Customer.
29. Force Majeure Clause: If the performance of Animal Register Limited of its obligations under these terms and conditions is prevented by reason of “force majeure” (which shall include prevention occasioned by fire, casualty, accident, act of God, natural disaster, any law, order, proclamation, regulation, demand or requirement of any government or government agency, strikes, labour disputes, shortage of labour or lack of skilled labour, shortage or unavailability of electricity or communications failures, or other causes whatsoever (whether similar to the foregoing or not) beyond the reasonable control of Animal Register Limited then Animal Register Limited shall be excused from such performance to the extent of such prevention.
30. Any links to third party websites are provided for convenience only, and the inclusion of any link does not imply any endorsement or verification by the Companion Animal Register, Animal Register Limited or the New Zealand Companion Animal Council and its members. Animal Register Limited does not monitor the content of any other website and is not liable or responsible in relation to any content on them.
